Dawn Lanaville, Ph.D.:
Dr. Lanaville is a Clinical Psychologist, licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. She provides a variety of forensic services, for criminal and civil matters, as well as clinical Psychology testing.
Dr. Lanaville obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California, an American Psychological Association accredited program. For the past 22 years, Dr. Lanaville’s work experience has spanned the criminal justice and psychology fields, including probation & parole, court testimony, forensic and clinical psychology evaluations, individual & group treatment, and rehabilitation.
Individuals may be court-ordered for an evaluation, or may choose to seek testing in the context of a court case. Examples include personal injury, trauma and abuse, custody and parental capacity, sex offender, parental alienation, mental competency, competency to stand trial, and other evaluations intended to assist the Court in determining sentencing, recommendations and compensation.
Dr. Lanaville’s forensic services are provided on a self-pay basis only. Court-ordered evaluations or evaluations needed for forensic (court-related) purposes are determined on a case-by-case basis, and a free initial, half-hour consultation will be provided to assess each client’s specific needs.
Clinical Psychology Testing
Dr. Lanaville also provides Clinical psychology testing services on a self-pay basis only. However, unlike forensic evaluations, her clinical psychology testing fees may be reimbursed by your insurance, if you have out-of-network benefits. For example, personal injury, mental competency, trauma/abuse, and disability evaluations for military service members may be covered as an out-of-network insurance benefit.
Clinical psychology testing provides parents, teachers, therapists and physicians with valuable information for educational and treatment planning. Psychological evaluations assesse cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning and provide diagnostic impressions and comprehensive treatment recommendations.
